Our Story
Three Points Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a wife (Jade) and husband (Joe) owned operation. Jade and Joe are both health care professionals and have extensive experience working with kids and adults. They strongly believe that exercise, pursuing a passion, and being involved in a supportive community are integral to a healthy life. For some people, jiu jitsu can check all those boxes and they are excited to be be able to offer this as another possible activity for our Blue Hill community. Our goal is to offer a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for anyone interested in learning jiu jitsu, training hard, and contributing to the progress of their teammates.
Coach Joe
Joe has been involved in martial since a young age and initially experimented with a number of different arts including karate, tae kwon do, kali, pencak silat, and jeet kune do. In his early teens he discovered boxing and kickboxing and kickboxed competitively at the amateur level until his early 20s. Then after moving to Northern Virginia in 2006, he started training in Brazilian jiu jitsu under Leo Dalla and has been hooked on the art since. He loves the physical challenge and puzzle of it, the infinite rabbit holes of techniques, and the camaraderie. He has been fortunate to train with many skilled practitioners throughout multiple relocations and received his black belt from Clovis Silva in 2018 while living in Northern California. He has also spent much of his time on the mats as an instructor and greatly enjoys sharing what he has learned with others and helping others explore their own personal style. It’s a dream come true for him to open a gym with his family and create a space for jiu jitsu here in the Blue Hill Peninsula.
